"After much prayer and research, we decided to switch providers from the doctor group I've been with for almost 4 years to Mrs. Brenda Parrish. While my OB would spend maybe 5 minutes with me at each appointment, each appointment with Brenda was thorough and she always listened patiently to my concerns.

During Baby Miller's birth, Brenda was patient, calm and knowledgeable. Baby Miller was posterior as was my previous hospital born baby. In the hospital my OB had no idea my baby was posterior resulting in long, hard pushing and bad tears for me. With Baby Miller, Brenda noticed the problem immediately and gently helped me turn him; the result was a much easier birth and no tearing. My recovery after a homebirth was 100% better!

I would definitely recommend Brenda & a homebirth and hope to see her again with my next baby!

Thanks again for giving us such a wonderful experience!!

"When I became pregnant with my first child, I assumed that I would have an epidural but was curious about my other options. After meeting with Brenda and reading the material she recommended, my views on childbirth completely changed. Brenda helped my husband and me recognize the inherent (and seemingly forgotten) value of natural birth and the many shortcomings of epidurals and c-sections. She taught us how to work together during labor and gave us the confidence to have the birthing experience we wanted: one that was best for our daughter.

Working with Brenda made my pregnancy an empowering experience, and her commitment to my health and my baby’s wellbeing was unwavering. She attended doctor’s visits with me, coached me on how to have a healthy diet, and suggested herbal remedies. While I was on bed rest for pre-term labor, Brenda kindly held her childbirth classes in my home so I wouldn’t have to leave! After my daughter was born, Brenda was instrumental in making sure our breastfeeding went successfully, providing advice about latching, schedules, and the many issues I had as a new nursing mother.

To say that Brenda is helpful is an understatement. Her care for me went far beyond my daughter’s birth; she supported me throughout my pregnancy and labor, and two years later, she is still a part of my life. All mothers and couples would benefit from Brenda’s services, especially those who are interested in making the most informed decisions about the birth of their child.

"Long before I became pregnant I knew that I wanted to have my children outside the hospital setting in the comfort of my home. Little did I know then that home birth midwives were few and hard to find. I met Brenda in nursing school and through a brief conversation about future dreams and goals of mine discovered I had found my future midwife!

Brenda cared for me throughout my first pregnancy and attended me in the home setting throughout my labor. As a first time momma, my labor was long and hard and there were many times I didn't think I'd make it through. The encouragement Brenda provided me and the belief she had in me to deliver my baby were exactly what I needed to hold on. Even in the midst of a transport, Brenda remained a supportive and reassuring presence.

I am thankful for Brenda's expertise and passion for implementing normalcy in pregnancy and birth. I doubt I would've had the first birth I desired without the investment and input of Brenda. Even though the outcome of my first birth differed from my dreams I had for it, it was a remarkable birth and I made it through with Brenda's help! I am thankful for such a wonderful educator, mentor, midwife and above all a friend.
